'Be Gentle, Po'

Po had always looked forward to visiting Sakura and Kaede - who were friends of the family, or more so family - to him and his father. But as of late, things were different when he came. Sakura was always tired, lying on her bedroll, and Kaede was out. Even Kay and Rayo didn't seem to interested in playing with him. But now he watched, nose wrinkled up in confusion as he peered up at a little squirming furry bundle in Sakura's arms.

Carefully, he tiptoed out from around the corner and tilted his head a little up at his father; his expression saying, "daddy, what's going on?"

Ping smiled and kneeled down, ruffling the cub's fur. "Po, Lady Sakura has a wonderful surprise for you."

The panda cub began jumping up and down. "What is it?! Cookies??"

Ping rolled his eyes, sighing. "No, not THAT kind of surprise!"

Po looked more confused than ever. "Then...what?"

Sakura chuckled gently and bent down, revealing the squirming young kitten in her arms. "This."

The panda peered up at the little baby. "Ohhh....."

Smiling, Sakura lifted a fold of the fuzzy pink quilt and revealed the little kitten.

Po's smile vanished and he took a step back, wrinking his nose, this time in disgust. Ew, gross! It's a GIRL!

Sakura rolled her eyes to Ping and laughed slightly. "Oh, come on dear...she's a new member of the family. Would you like to hold her?"

Po frowned a little. "I dunno..cause'a never held a baby 'fore.."

The female russian blue smiled. "Well, there's always a first for everything.."

Po turned to his father, and, once Ping gave an approving nod, he clambered up one of the wooden chairs and held out his arms.

Sakura gently placed the little kitten in the crook of his arms. "Her name is Kurisu. Craddle her head like so."

Po did as he was told, following Sakura's instructions to properly hold a baby. He felt uncomfortable with all those endearing stares on him.

"Be gentle, Po," came Sakura's voice.

So she's a little baby...big deal. She's still a girl. I wan' nuttin' to do with her...

He could hear Kaede speaking. "I think you two will become quite close.."

I doubt that very much...

But the moment the young little kitten gave a tiny mew, and reached out of her quilt to touch his face, and peer up at him with her soft and sparkling turquoise eyes.......everything changed.

!!!! EEEEEEEEEE!!! I've wanted to do this for SOO long now! !! I bet you've been wondering a little on Kurisu's background story...so here's the gist of it.

Kurisu lived in Lotus Grove: a village in Japan until she was five. Her family was Sakura, Kaede, and her brothers Rayo and Kay. When she was three, Sakura made Ping promise that if anything happened to her and Kaede, he'd take her children. Sadly, when Kurisu was five, her village was invaded and razed to the ground...she was the only one left of her family and Ping adopted her. So, when she was five, and Po was eleven, she became his little sister. At the time of him being the Dragon Warrior, she was in Japan. When she came bak she became a student of Shifu at the Jade Palace.
